Ann Olson


Ann Olson, born and raised in Fairbanks Alaska, has been privileged to study under Deril Balough, Claire West, Israel “El” Gabriel, Frank Ohman, Maria Grandy, Fred Mann, Bob Rizzo and Janice Beranger. She has been a ballet instructor and choreographer of ballet and other styles of dance for more than 20 years. She has created and directed seven full-length original “Dansicle” productions incorporating 50–100 students, received Excellence Awards for her choreography in Los Angeles and has won Reader’s Choice Awards for Best Production of the Year in Fairbanks, Alaska. In addition to teaching and choreographing at Eugene Ballet Academy, Ann has spent 12 years working with an outreach dance program in Healy, Alaska as the Artistic Director and Choreographer. Her goal is to teach ordinary dancers that they can be extraordinary, all the while enhancing their self-confidence, which promotes them to strive for excellence, not only in dance, but in all aspects of life.
